Sharadindu Bandopadhyay's short stories "Baroda Stories" can be found in the collection of stories "The Mystery of Barsaive". These stories talk about the life and struggles of a family who is actually living in Baroda, India. The story begins with a child, whose name remains unknown while he escapes from his home while his parents were sleeping. He has to live on the streets for six days and experiences different things during that time. After surviving on the streets for six days, he was taken in by monks staying in a temple. It recounts the Shatadhanva story of Krishna being born to Devaki and Vasudeva. It talks about how Krishna got his name, the relationship between him and Shatadhanva, how he started his mission, and his mission succeeded.
